"Man's control over water is so immense that.... what once influenced the growth of society is now being influenced by society itself...."

Water is a start for any form of existence. Settlements have originated from this uncontrollable entity. Water was what controlled the development of settlements, and thus, it had a key role in survival. This development led to the branching of settlements away from its origins. As time went by we managed to braid it and bend it accordingly to fulfil our desires. This control has created a rift between man and water. It has had a massive impact on the water source. Neither does this control favour man in all its glory.

But as we try to grip it further, so does it try to free itself more. Nature doesn't like to be controlled by anyone or anything. It always frees itself in some way or the other.

Finally, the control that is spoken of is lost ultimately leading to degradation of society.

The hand here is depicted in black representing the dark entity that we represent against nature. We are restricting the free flowing water to use it for our basic purposes which are the roots. But as necessity becomes greed, water might explode out of our hands leaving us dry.

Hence there has to be a balance between Society and Water.. a line between dependency and domination.
