Flowing from the Lap of Nature into the palms of the rich and powerful, water has travelled a long way in society.

She has seen it all

Caressed by the soils of the river valley civilizations,

Slapping against the streamlined bodies of wood and steel

Intoxicated by the industrial revolution

Gradually moving from plants to power plants

Now, it resides in the homes of the people with larger pockets.

Their bathtubs bubble with her laughter, fountains and gardens springs with her joy

A splish splosh of happiness in their pools

The ones on lower ground are treated with silence

They open her taps, but she doesn’t sing

They dig into her home, but she remains hidden

They travel miles to get a taste , to end this game of hide and seek

They sweat and work, trying to make an ocean of the little drops they get...
