CALL FOR PAPERS

On behalf of ISOLA Bangalore Chapter, we are pleased to announce that the abstract review of the process for the ISOLA Call for Papers, has now concluded. A three-member, double-blind, peer review process has been used to evaluate every abstract received to ensure an objective and non-partisan selection. 

 

The following are the lists of abstracts that have been selcted by the Peer Review Committe.A total no.of 24(twenty four) abstracts have been selected.

 

Out of the selected abstracts, few have been "conditionally accepted". A conditional acceptance implies that the abstract can be taken forward towards preparing the full paper. However, the paper submitted shall be reviewed by the peer review committee and only if the same is accepted, shall the paper be published in the conference proceedings. The abstracts that have been "conditionally accepted" have already been notified to the respected authors.

You can use this document as both an instruction set and as a template into which you can type your own text. All details regarding length of paper, as well as file type for submission is enclosed in the attachment.

 

Please Note: The selected papers shall only be made part of the ISOLA Conference Publication book. Selected papers are not meant for presentation during the ISOLA conference.

 

PEER REVIEW COMMITTEE

Amit Prothi

Amit Prothi is an expert in Urban and Environmental Planning. He graduated in architecture from SPA (Delhi) in 1992 and subsequently pursued a double Masters in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (USA).  For nearly 20 years, he has worked in North America, Asia and Africa on projects and studies funded by the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, Rockefeller Foundation, US Government, and numerous municipalities and private sector clients. He was previously Director of Sustainability Planning at AECOM, a global consultancy. The theme of Water permeates through most of his work; whether it is climate change adaptation in Vietnam, planning for a SEZ along the coast of Mauritania, or developing a Resource Management Plan for a riverfront National Park in the US. His interest in urban sustainability led him to start a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he is conducting research on land use planning and urban water resource management. Simultaneously, he serves as a Team Leader and a land use planning expert on multidisciplinary urban projects, including an ADB funded Urban River Rehabilitation project in China. Amit presently lives in Vietnam with his wife and two young children. 

Dr. Minakshi Jain

Minakshi Jain is a Professor at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur (HP) INDIA. She is the former Head Deptt. of Architecture and Dean Planning and Development at NIT, Hamirpur. Her research work relates to the issues of Sustainable Development of the Ecologically Fragile Hill Areas. She received A3 foundation award in 2006 in recognition of her research work. Having received the Best Faculty Award for the year 2007, she is the Life time member of CoA, Fellow member Indian Institute of Architects and Indian Society of Landscape Architects respectively. She has published nearly 40 peer reviewed publications; lectured & taught at over 15 of the country’s leading Institutes and carried out about 15 major Consultancy Projects.  In February 2014, she was the Guest Editor for the “Hill Architecture issue” of Journal of Indian Institute of Architects. She was the coordinator for the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme on City Redevelopment from India and was invited as a key note speaker at a workshop in Catanzaro (Southern part of Italy) in December 2011. 

Prashant Hedao

Prashant Hedao is an Architect, Landscape Architect/Environmental Planner with over two decades of experience using GIS in various fields such as Ecological Planning, Conservation and Post-Disaster Rehabilitation Planning. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Geography at UC Davis and a visiting scientist at IISc, Bangalore. In the past he worked as a planning coordinator for long-term tsunami rehabilitation planning at Auroville in South India and flood affected areas in Bihar in northern India. Earlier he worked at Esri-Redlands, World Wildlife Fund–US, Environmental Agency of Abu Dhabi and UC Berkeley.He has a Masters in Landscape Architecture from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor in Architecture from University of Mumbai.
